One of these days, I'll find it in me to create something other than D/Hr. Truthfully, I'm surprised I haven't done any slashy icons yet. Anyhow, on with the iconness.

Someone made a request, and as usual, I got just a bit carried away. I'm rather proud of this one and all its little offspring.

Comment and keyword credit if you use one, please.

This icon thing is getting slightly out of hand. Ah, well. I'm fine, how about you? :) I'm thinking about murdering my sister, simply because she doesn't have the decency to log out of her LiveJournal. I've posted like seven hundred comments under her screen name; naturally, this is creating mass confusing. Who is that strange girl? Is she also the eloquent one? No...

For the record, I'm the graphic genius. She just likes to drabble.

A set of house pride icons. I like flowers! :)

Comment if you use them, please.

Looking at them, they're not very good. I sort of threw Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff together, after making the Slytherin one on a whim. Ah, well.

I got accepted into [info]hpshippercons today. Is it wrong if I'm really flattered and excited about that? When the email came, I thought I'd be turned down because I felt like three of the icons I submitted weren't up to par. But I knew the Marilyn Man-Eater and the Tough Girl/Tough Love icons were clinchers.

I'm going to go make a hundred icons, now.

I dig Something Corporate.

I'm having far too much fun making icons.

You know you've got it bad when you're considering paying for LiveJournal just so you can have an unlimited amount of user pics.

I had an awkward dream last night about Hermione and Snape. They were both somehow Transfigured into puppy dogs, and seemed to be waiting for something. It ended with Hermione succumbing to her canine temptations and sniffing Snape's butt. I distinctly remember dream-thinking "What happened? Hermione/Snape happened." And then a strike of lightning woke me up. I was very confused. Not only was it an odd dream, but it was pouring like it was going out of style, whereas just last night the sky was beautifully clear.

I'm not in particularly good mood, as I feel asleep hardly five hours ago. Don't know what's up with my sleeping habits, but I sorely wish they sort themselves out. Forgive me if this post is less-than-coherent.

I blame the fanfiction.

Speaking of which, I really need to stop reading it. I'm beginning to get things I read in fanfics confused with the actual books, and this is not good for my writing. I wrote a 550-600 word ficlet yesterday for a challenge posted on [info]30minutefics. I'm going to get addicted to these challenges very soon.

I'm completely going to forget what I said earlier and go peek around Whispers for a good Hermione/Snape. Hopefully I won't come across any animal types- I like to leave that sort of thing to Lupin/Sirius.

One thing that annoys me and delights me about the Harry Potter books is that there are very few pairings I dislike. As a matter of fact, I really love the more popular ones. And this makes it very difficult to decide what I want to read. Halfway through Harry/Ginny, I decide I'd rather read a Hermione/Snape, and in the process of looking for that stumble across a Hermione/Draco that catches my attention.

Then there's the issue of deciding a pairing to write for. My original inclination was to write a nice, not-too-long but not-too-short Harry/Hermione story. After a bit of reading, I thought about starting up a Hermione/Snape story simply because all the ones I found are fiftyeleven chapters long, practically endless and filled with pointless, boring reading in between vague, none-too-satisfying romantic moments. Then, following a visit to [info]hp_s_p_r_o_g, I considered writing a Harry/Ginny fic that didn't include Ginny getting knocked up six different times in the span of a year.

I'm sticking with the Harry/Hermione. The outline is written, chapters are summarized and the very first is nearly halfway complete. Slow going, now that I think about it.

Meanwhile, I'll continue my search for something decent to read. An ideal read would be about 10-15 chapters long, have a significant amount of angst, impeccable characterization(that's really the big one), just a smidgen of fluff and plenty of sarcastic humor. Anyone know a fanfic that falls into these paramters? Any pairing would satisfy me, really, so long as it isn't completely off the wall, squicky or boring. The closest I've come to The Perfect Fanfic is the If You Are Prepared series, a lengthy Snape/Harry fic. I recommend that to any slash fans, if you haven't already devoured it. It was just a bit long and the Harry-characterization was off in quite a few places, but it was so damn funny.

I'm so critical of other people's writing. Damn, that's arrogant. :)

Ginny's full name is Ginevra. If I see another fanfic calling her Virginia, I might die.
